30-06 to 7.62x39 adaptor question
A few years ago I purchased a catridge converter that goes inside my browing A-bolt 06 chamber. I have yet to try it I purchased some cheap ammo from china and the bolt would not close. I have kids getting old enough to start thinking about a deer firle for them that does not kick and figured this may be the ticket for them to use. The 7.62x39 in a long barreled rifle should get the job done with short range whitetails and yet keep the recoil down.
The adapter instructions say loc-tite in. which i did. Has anyone had experience with these adapters? does the ammo make a diff. I know the china spec ammo may not be as close tolerance? could I have put too much loc-tite on the adapter? Is the A-bolt chamber too tight?
What was the cause for the bolt not closing when the cartridge was chambered? Yes to the obvious no obstructions and clean chamber.
Thanks for the Help!

I can see how this could work, but it seems like a real bad idea in practice. If you insist on using this device I would go to a gunsmith and have the headspace checked and the gun inspected.

This just in...... There is a fool around every corner...oh look your around the corner......
Do not I repeat do not use that thing. Rifle chambers are used to control EXPLOSIONS! I don't think I would trust the life of my kids to a gimick that is "locktited" into a perfectly good rifle. Get that thing out of there and trow it into the nearest pond you can find. Then Get a gunsmith to inspect your rifle and make sure you didn't ruin your rifle, then buy some reduced velocity loads and be done with it. Just my thoughts.
