Here in central Iowa, no rifle season. If you can only get one, I'd say the ML. You can use a ML during shotgun season, but not a shotgun during ML. We have a 2nd SG season from 12/9-12/17, then a late ML that runs from 12/18-01/10. A whole month of gun huntin'.
If you have the funds, obviously get both. Make the shotgun a combo with a cantilever rifled slug barrel and a bird barrel and you're shooting pheasant too.
