We quit selling Simmons many years ago due to quality problems.
LOL, 9 deer rifles 2 muzzleloaders, an assault rifle and a handgun all with Simmons scopes tells me that they dont have THAT many quality problems.

You mentioned you have Leupold bases. Are these the bases that have two screws at the back of the base that hold opposing tension on the bottom of the rear ring?

Iceman....I hate to point out the obvious, but the simmons was on with the boresighter too. Did you shoot it? I would start over with new mounts. I would then return the scope if it still has issues. They have a GREAT service Dept now. Same one as Bushnell if memory serves me correctly....Didn't Blount buy them out?

On the other hand,I have purchased one simmons scope and a friend purchasedone at a gunshow. Both were the same model, and bothwere defective. He senthis for repairs andafter it came back, itfailed a second time. When mine failed it simply went in the garbage as I could never trust it after his failed twice and mine failed as well.

Hmmm.. Looking for a better scope, you replaced a Bushnell with a Simmons??

The fastest, most effective remedy would be to put the Bushnell back on. If you can't afford a Leupold, that is!

Get a good set of millet mounts, and if you cant get a leupold, atleast get a swift. Bottom line, throw the see throughs and get a good scope...

I have a simmon aetec 3.8X12X44 on my 30-06 and it has not failed me. I like simmons scopes. They are the same as busnell IMO. don't buy the bottom of the line. would you but a busnell banner on your gun.......hell no!!!!
