Default New Remington 870 Express 12GA

Hey there...

I just got home from the gun store with a new Rem 870 Express 12GA. I just swapped them, that's all.

Remember.... I'm one of those lefty guys, and about 5-6 years ago, I bought a left handed Remington 870 Express 12GA? It's all fine and dandy and worked great. No problems... Sweet shotgun...

BUT... I soon discovered that with the left handed 870 models, you are pretty much stuck with it, as is. You can't get the scope mount adapter for it, you can't get the SWAT team 18" barrell and pistol grips, and if you want a rifled slug barrel, you will pay through the nose $$$$ for it...

So, I thought about it, and realized that perhaps I was a little too anal about being left handed. I mean, I am not going to get biffed by an ejecting shell on an 870. What was I thinking?!? [:-] I shoot my Marlin 30-30 perfectly fine lefty, and don't have any problems...

Anyway long story short, the guys at the gun shop were like, "sure thing, bring in your lefty model and we'll make a trade". So, they gave me a great price on the lefty model and put it on the rack as is. Someone will buy it soon enough. They got me a factory new (right out of the box) Remington 870 Express 12GA (normal righty model), and I paid the remaining balance. NOW I can go get a rifled slug barrel for it and/or any accessories that I want.

One thing about the Remington 870. They are all over the place. Everybody has one or has shot one. Best do anything, go anywhere shotgun around!

Just bought my Rem. 870 pump combo for 389+tax this past winter. Got a decent deal I'd say. Shot my first turkey with the bird barrel this spring and looking to get my first deer with the rifled barrel unless I shoot my first deer with the rifle I'm hopefully getting before season. Thatgun make & modelis still up in the air.

Thanks...

Yeah, I love the 870. You can do anything with it... The normal (Righty) version that I got has 900,000 accessories. The lefty version (I used to have/traded in) was cool and a great shotgun, but you couldn't really trick it up. I mean, yeah okay, I found a deer barrel for the lefty 870 but the $*@#& price was almost more thanthe gun itself!!! [&:][:'(] Can I whine and cry discrimination here?

Anyway, the only lefty thing I own now is my compound bow (but that I HAD to get lefty - ain't no way around that...)

I could be wrong but I think you can have a safety switched on it for lefties. If not i'm sure a new trigger group wouldn't cost that much.

I got mine a few years ago and it's been modified, right handed. I love that gun.The only lefty gun I have is my ML and that's just a safety thing, if the nipple blew off or something.
