If you are a function over fashion type person then yeahit's hard to beat a Model 10 Savage without spending a good bit more money. They won't win any beauty contests but they just shoot well. I've seen more than one person with their high grade walnut stocked 1500 dollar masterpiece rifles getout shotat the range by a guy with a cheap Savage package gun from Wal Mart. It's a funny sight to see.

I think the best bang for the buck is the handi rifles,I purchase one 2 years ago in 30-06 and loaded with handloads I can but 3 shots under 7/8 " at the 100 yard target,think I spent $179.00 new

I have a savage model 111F in 30-06 and I am looking at getting the stevens 200 is 22-250.
I love the savage rifles. they are very accurate and work well. Yes they don't have the looks of the more pricey manufactures but performance is where it counts IMO
