Stoeger model 2000
Does anyone have any opinions on the Stoeger 2000? I am looking for a new duck gun and I have had a couple of people mention this gun to me. I know it is made by Benelli and I hear the inertia system is supposed to be more reliable than gas operated automatics.

Nice gun for the money..will probably improve in quality as time goes on. Some current owners love them others hate them. If both systems Inertia and Gas are properly maintained I would like to see where one is more reliable then the other. If it fell overboard I wouldn't cry over it like I would if a SBE fell over . It is not made by Benelli ..it uses the benelli patent and is made in Turkey.

I just got one a couple months ago; because my 870 was stolen. I like it so far, and it seems to shoot well. I did have a slight problem with cycling the shells through by hand when unloading, but fixed it by tightening the the spring a little. Time will tell when I get the chance to shoot it more.

i would like to say that the stoeger is made by benelli. Benelli owns the company so it is pretty much made by them. as is franchi and A. Ubertis firearms

Abf,
I have the 2000, have had it going on 4 years now. Never had a problem with it. I've used it for every thing, ducks, dove, turkey, quail, you name it, I've put it thru it and so far, no problems. However, I know a couple of people that have had problems with them, which was minor.
I bought it mainly because of the price, believe I paid less than $400.00 for it. I have other shotguns, rem., win., etc, but have used it extensively since geting it. I wanted to see what it could take, so for, for the money, it's a pretty good buy.
