Last deer season a couple of 12 gauge pumps were "converted" into sluggers.

We both bought the Mossbergpackage deals. Ported, cantilever, rifled barrelswith Bushnell 3-9X scopes. They werefactory laser bore sighted and were right on the paper. Mine took a couple boxes to tweek it real good and my buddy's just shot right on. He got him his first deer, opening morning, first light.

Ammo? Remington Buckhammers shoot great out of our barrels.

I did one of myMossberg 500's for my nephew for $169.99 + tax.

He did an 870 for $179.99 + tax.

I will be fitting the Mossy with a straight 4X, but also thinking red dot. (Anyone use a red dot on a slug gun?) I don't like the 3-9X scope the package comes with, but for the $$$ you get the barrel and it's like a free scope. But hey, we're not looking back!

Hope this helps you out with keeping some meat in the freezer.

Uncle Matt:
I hav an Aimpoint Comp C 2x, 2MOA on my Marllin 512.This is the only Red Dot sight I am aware of that has any magnification.I am undecided if I should move it to my 870 smoothbore or not.I have a good Redfield Intermediate Eye Relief 1X4X20 that performs fantastic and they dont make them anymore.

I guess I got lucky but my 870 barrels are both such good fits that I dont feel a need to have them pinned. The Hastings barrel I got for my 20 Ga Wingmaster is such a sloppy fit it dont shoot worth a darn but I do not want to Pin it to a good wingmaster.
