I don’t see any reason why someone should be embarrassed about owning high end equipment being scopes or rifles. The end result is the one owning them is the one who spent the money being low, mid range or high end...
Yes no need to be embarassed, if you own tasco, Simmons, Leupold or Zeiss.... it is what you choosen and as long as it serves your needs and you are satified, then there is nothing more said! [8D]

I used to have a Nikon 3x9 on my hunting rifle. Last light one day overlooking a field and 2 deer walked out. I couldn't ID if one was a buck or not, the optics just didn't quite have enought light-gathering, even though it was about 5 minutes before end of legal shooting light. So, next year I moved that scope to my .223 and bought a Zeiss. I haven't been in quite the same situation again but it is much brighter and sharper than any other scope I've looked through and confidence speaks volumes when it comes to performing any sport, especially hunting. I feel it was worth the $600 the scope cost.

you hit it right on the head. People think that if they buy a thousand dollar scope, it will improve their shooting. well let me say this,i can shoot better with a bowat 40 yds thanmy brother can with a scoped .30-06! ther are however some levels of cheap i wont go to though, because you get what you pay for.

I spend between 100.00 and 150.00 for most of my scopes, only two Bushnells have ever dissappointed me. But, I spend as much time as I can on the range before the season and during. I get the scope sighted in and once a month or more, I go to the range, fire 5 shots through it to verify zero and then clean it and wait for the next hunt or range trip![8D]

Trying to shoot at least once a month is a great plan, and I hope you can keep it up. I had tried goingonce a week, but I fell off the wagon after4 weeks.Good luck and happy shooting!

Feel I owe it to the game I hunt, I try to shoot everyday with a bow, and once a month is not much, find a day, grab all the rifles, hit the range, 5 through (more if needed) each one, verify then off to have a few brews! [8D]
