RE: Set of Weatherby rifles...
Vapo are you really findin good, clean used Mk V Deluxes in your area for $550? They are from $750-$1K+ in my neck of the woods. I would KILL for $550 Deluxes and yes I to would "build a poor mans collection of fine rifles" with such foder.
A "Mk V collection" doesn't have any monetary value and it was a common goal of many riflemen in the 80s. If you could "steal" used ones like Vapo mentioned then in 20 years you probably could make some money on them. Otherwise just enjoy the chase and finding them and the conversation pieces they would be.
Good luck,
RA

I wouldn't do it to sell it, it would be for the search of finding the derned things.
I'm not looking for NIB, but you won't find many 550$ Mark V deluxe's in good shape anywhere.
You can find them on gunbroker or gunsamerica for ~800+ depending on vintange, condition, scope, caliber, etc.
Hey stubblejumper, do you work for syncrude? I work for XOM as a geologist in Houston and I know they are (as everybody are) substantially involved.
How's it feel to be sitting atop the worlds recognized oil reserve?

Matt-I have worked for Syncrude for over 25 years.Actually I am not overjoyed that the oilsands have become so popular and as a resultFort Mcmurray has once again become a boomtown. It used to be a nice friendly city, but in the last few years the entire atmosphere has changed.

stubblejumper:
I can only imagine how big of a boomtown it is these days.
I was in Calgary a few months back and it is huge, huge, huge.
Get used to it man, cause it isn't going to stop for a long time.

Well Matt,I will take the money now and in 9 years,I will retire and leave the oilsands to whoever wants it.I will move south and west to a place near the mountains where there is good hunting and fishing close to home.
