RE: 870 vs. Benelli Nova
I'll take the 870. Steel receiver provides more to absorb the punch of the shot. The Benelli's have aluminum receivers now and make you feel every bit of that shot, the pump guns make you feel everybit of the punch. That is why I would take an 870. I don't question Benelli's performance and reliability-BTW.

RE: 870 vs. Benelli Nova
I've owned both and here are my opinions on each one. The Nova I bought the first months they were released. I shot alot of rounds thru the gun and never had any problems with it. The downfall is the one piece polymer stock/receiver. I couldn't hit a thing with the gun, so I patterned it after gettin frustrated shooting doves. At 35 yards the gun shot a foot high and a foot right from where I was aiming. I traded it off needless to say.
The 870 is one heckuva gun. If I was to buy a pump it would either be an 870 or a BPS, as I think they are the 2 best pumps on the market today.

go 870 thye have a reputation of reliability and they live up to it every time. i have a 870 wingmaster magnum, one of the older ones and it outperforms most of my other shot guns and almost does th ones with turkey chokes and its only a full choke

Easy desicion. The 870 is the best pump shotgun ever made!I absolutely love my Wingmaster, I have hunted with it for years, it was handed down to me by my father and I will hand it down someday. Gotta get you one!
