i've got a 6mm rem and i love it. It's a good deer rifle. I'd never give mine up. Go with the 6mm rem. 7mm08's are great guns but 6mm rem's are hard to find and a joy to shoot. Once u shoot it i bet u put you're 243 away in the cabinent for good and find yourself grabbing the 6mm over it.

well the 6mm has the same bullet as the .243 and the 7mm-o8 has the same casing as the .243. hard choice. id go with the 6mm though cause i dont really like the -08's much cause they are week and slow.

Get them both. EJ
Get them both. EJ
I guess Id go with the 7mm-08. I have a 6mm and dont shoot it very often, its in an older 788 Rem which I dont like very much so that may be the problem either way itll be good.

Chuckling at the 08 being slow and weak EJ...that IS the proper attitude...lol when in doubt...buy both. If I were buying to hunt I would get the 08.....if its s collectible sometimes shooter than i would get the 6mm. Or do the best thing and buy both as EJ said.

thanks for the replies guys , so far , i'm really leaning towards the 6mm remington . however , i noticed a winchester model94 bigbore in .375 win. and includes 3 boxes of factory ammunition , for sale in the paper that just might change my whole purchase plan , it's 450 dollars though but , from what i've heard , that's what they'll be fetching now until somebody buys the factory and gets the name licensing and starts making them again.
