I shot a 225 to 250 lb hog at about 30 yards with Hornady's 350 gr xtp in 500 S&W. It knocked the hog completly off its feet.

RE: Hornady ammo
I never tried the Light Magnum stuff ,but I use the Custom in my 7 rem mag and 22-250 and get ragged one hole groups when I do my part.
I also agee with a previous post , I also like the Federal Premium. The Hornady 139gr. and Federal TBBC 140 gr. shot to the exact same point in my 7 rem mag and give the same one hole performance.

RE: Hornady ammo
I was using the Hornady's out of my .243 exclusively. I dropped a 200 pound boar at 220 yds with it. I mean dropped it, I could hear his head hit the ground. Complete pass through on the neck, same with deer, I put some big 'ol holes through deer with them also.
Past two years I have been using federals with the sierra game kings, not much difference if any, cheaper and easier to find.
but to answer your question, Hornady makes fine ammo. I would highly reccomend them.
