Recoil Chart
Do they make such a thing? After recommendations from the people on this site and my step dad, I’ve narrowed my first Deer\Bear gun down to Remington 700 CDL LEFT-HAND MODEL. I'm still not sure if I will go with the .30 06 or the 300 Rem Ultra Mag. My step dad says the 300 packs a pretty good punch, but while I know the .30 06 will be fine for deer and most cases the bear. I wouldn’t mind having just a little extra for the possible big black bear. I'm gonna try to find a range to shoot both, but in the mean time anyone who have shot both have any comments?

RE: Recoil Chart
You should be aware that both the formula and the charts only state the actual recoil produced by firing the cartridge. What the shooter actually feels is referred to as felt recoil and factors such as stock fit and recoil pads greatly effect felt recoil. Also you will notice that the formula includes rifle weight and also takes into account the actual load used and not just the bullet weight. All else being equal, the heavier the gun the less recoil and reduced loads also result in reduced recoil.
