121553...
i have never owned a ruger. but i have owned a remington 700 ADL. but that ADL eneded up leaving me after only one year of hunting. because of the bolt problems. so i cannot really condemn them either.
but if 700 you are looking at was like the one i woned in 97' i would buy the remington. sturdy rifle and felt good in my hand. nice bolt too. but it comes down to what you want in your rifle.

Duckbill, got many guns, but I feel like I am tradeing up as the 30-06 will do the job on elk and deer. The ruger 77, 25-06 has done me well, but I really have no need for it here and have not used it in several years. Quilly, the 700 Remington feels so custom in my grip and well balanced as well as light weight, it just feel good kinda like a glove and you know that groove when it feels right. I am going to be makeing the deal this weekend but won't be able to shoot it right yet as I am going to order the Williams sight rings for it as I don't shoot further than 200 yds at maybe the maximum. I will startoff tring to group 180 grain core-lokt and 180 noslers. I'll let you all know what groups best. Later folks, Bobby

Well I'm the proud owner of a reminton 700, 30-06 and my Williams Sights are ordered. Danny as I said, the Ruger 77 is a great gun but its also too heavy for stalking purposes as I bet the 700 probably weighs less than three-quarters to that of a 77, and also the 30-06 will too take any game in North America. Good luck this season.
