Default tough ? (1917 Eddystone)

Hey all,

I have what seems to me to be a tough question, but maybe it's pretty easy for someone else. I just got my hands on an old Remington 1917 Eddystone.... re-done to 35 Whelen..... a very nice custom stock.... really a sweet, old gun.

My question is what mounts to use?? Any of you all know what is the best fit for this action? It's already been drilled, but nobody knows what mounts were originally used. Was there any specific mount that was used on these actions when they were wildcatted to 35 Whelen or sporterized 30-06s? I haven't a clue. Trying not to drill again.... hopefully there's an answer

Thanks.
