yup.....and I suspect it's going to be a grand birthday.....a lot of custom .30-06 rifles made next year.

Call it anything you want....it's the cartridge of the century and likely the next century as well.

Yeppers...

I am a proud owner of one also. I don't see how it CANNOT be called the cartridge of the century!! It has spawned many of what are now factory cartridges and is what many cartridges are judged against!! I don't plan on getting rid of any of my .30-06's soon!!

It saw us thru two world wars and Korea.....and went on to become the most popular big game cartridge in the world. I'll bet there's 20 million in the United States alone.

My father switched to an 30-06 in the 60's (from a 35 Rem.) and although he's used several other cartridges & calibers over the years, he still loves the 06 best.

Dad is 92 now, almost as old as the cartridge he loves best... He bought his deer liscense the other day, and plans to take another buck this fall...

IMO the 30-06 is the greatest cartridge of all time!!!

i'm definately going to have to agree with this. i've always liked the 06 and just bought my first one this year. the 06 my be alomost 100 years old but she's nowhere near her end. as long as people are hunting deer, deer'll be getting killed with an 06 as long as i'm still around.
