EXP's Any Good At All????
I'm looking for a cheap, thats right CHEAP!, scope to mount on a rifle that's gonna get dragged through brush and banged up a bit. Was looking at a Tasco EXP 1.5-5x32/44. Them things any good?? I can get one for 121.67+shp.

I have used the EXP 3-9 on a TC Encore since the EXP was brought out. It is clear, has a good field of view and seems to take the abuse very well. It is not what I consider a cheap scope. If you want to go cheat look at the simmons and smaller models of the tasco.

In my opinion Tasco's are junk. If you want a inexpensive scope that performs try the Simmons Atec. I ALWAYS had to have a Nikon Monarch or a Leopold, however two years ago I put an Atec on my muzzleloader. I have beat it up, hunted in hard rain and it is great. I can't tell the difference in light gathering from my Monarch to my Atec, I have no problems with target aquisition. You really get a lot of scope for little money. Doubting Thomos's can laugh all they want, I did until I tried it, now all of my new guns are topped with the Atec.

I also have an Aetec on a .270. I love this scope. It is crystal clear in all conditions and takes a beating. Besides I saved a pile over my Leupold Vari-X III on y 7mm. I am going to get another Aetec for my Encore.
