As much as possible. Not sure what to tell ya other than adjust your scope so you have a perfectly round sightpicture when you throw up with your eyes closed and open them. I buy mostly leupolds which has more eye relief than most scopes.

The eye relief is determined by the scope. All scopes have a set eye relief but some change with the magnification setting, most noticeably leupold. If you adjustthe eye reliefto a value that is significantlydifferent from the scopes actual eye relief ,you will not get the proper view through the scope.

RE: what should be my eye relief?
right now in mock up, it's sitting around 2 inches, and the view is good, hard to tell looking out thru the garage cause it's getting dark out, but when I compare it to my 300 win mag. it's at least 3 1/2. I always thought the shotgun would have more recoil than a rifle. So as to why I was comparing it to my largest rifle. I know the 1100 doesn't kick as much as some pumps, but it does kick, and I just don't want another cut, been there before, and not wanting another.
