Just wasted $530
Well not yet but will have wasted that much over the next few weeks.
Went to the local gun store (www.bentonshooters.com ) and had them hold a brand spankin new Ruger 77 standard .300 WSM for me untill next week so I can put it in the layaway.

RE: Just wasted $530
I got a Ruger 77 Standard All Weather in 300 WSM a year ago Feb. It will shoot my 150gr core-loc hand loads in a .5" group at 100 yards and my 165gr and 180gr Barnes XLC handloads at about .6" group at 100 yards. Ruger makes a great gun you will be happy with it. You will probably want to get a trigger job done to it, most Ruger 77 triggers are one notch above worthless. I took mine from 5 pounds to 3 pounds. A Sims Limbsaver Recoil pad will take a lot of the thump out, it made quite a bit of difference on mine.

RE: Just wasted $530
The only ruger rifle I have ever shot was a ruger 77 international? with the full length mannlicher stock. Not sure if international is the name for that 77 or the No.1 but either way it felt good. The trigger was a bit heavy but after shootin a NEF/H&R for awhile (we all know how heavy their triggers are) I got used to heavy triggers.
Ive been goin through my nosler #5 manual lookin at loads all morning. I usually wont use any load over %95 case capacity on 150-165gr bullets and none over %90 on 180gr loads. So far I have found 6 loads for the 150gr partition and 6 loads for the 150gr ballistic tip. Once I start examining 165gr loads I may try some 168gr matchkings because Ive heard they work really good on deer (for a match bullet).
