This is a Colt New Service 38 W.C.F. (.38-40)
with nickel finish, hard rubber COLT grips, and oval lanyard ring - all original in 95% condition.
SN 3058xx pre-war circa 1920.
This is the desired commercial version of Colt's Model 1909 Army.
Even more desired is that only 5% of those had nickel finish, and this one is in excellent condition!!! You have to see it to believe it.
Blue Book value is $1375 for 95% condition plus 35% for nickel = $1856
Asking $1000 or equivilant trade?

The blue book value for nickel plated is a factory nickel plating job! Just asking but, yours has the holes washed out from polishing before a plating job. Has it been replated?? Vangunsmith

Could you explain what you mean about the holes being washed out?
I've looked it over again, and from what I can tell it is original plating. This gun came fromthe estate (auction) of an old gun collector. If anything, I'm off on the 95% condition but not far off.
