RE: first gun
My first gun was an Anschutz 1413 free rifle. I was/(am still) into smallbore competition. My first hunting gun was a Mossberg 500 A combo, came with a smooth barrel and rifled barrel. I still have that and it works just fine. Other then a little wear on the bottom of the stock and in the action, it looks brand new, which is good for a 17 year old shotgun.

A .303 British calibre rifle.
I'm not sure if it's a Lee Enfield, as I have yet to see pictures of Enfields that match my rifle. Hopefully I will have pictures soon...
And yes I still use it. It recoil is light, and any misses are my fault. Winchester Super X and this rifle will work wonders on anything!

RE: first gun
My first gun was a JC Higgins 12Guage Pump that my dad bought in 1951, the year I was born. It was given to me when I was 10 years old. It's got a full vent rib, 3 interchangable chokes labeled short range, medium range and long range, shoots 2 3/4" shells and weighs about 10 Lbs. I've killed a train load of game over the years with that gun and wouldn't part with it for anything. I don't even own another shotgun.

The first gun I took game with was a Win model 42 shotgun 410. a squirrel
The first gun I shot at a deer with was an Ithaca SxS 20ga shotgun, I missed
The first gun I got a deer with was an Ithaca mod 37 12ga shotgun, a button buck
The first rifle I got a deer with was a Springfield 03-A3 30-06, a five pointer
The first rifle I owned myself was a Chilean Mauser 7x57
I don't have any of these guns anymore and the Win model 42 is the only one I would like to have back.

RE: first gun
The first rifle I ever bought myself was a Remington Nylon 66 22 rifle. I shot deer and everything else that needed shot with that rifle. The first deer rifle I bought was a 788 Remington 243 Win. The first deer rifle I used to take a deer was my Dads Eddiestone 30-06. My first gun was a 20 Ga Stevens bolt action shotgun that was my dads and he gave it to me. I loaded it to a friend (X Friend) who got the barrel pluged with mud and blew the barrel up.
