What's the latest and greatest in new slug shells.
I've been reading this Forum now for a few months, now it's getting close in time to sight-in my gun for the season. The 1187 Remington Special Purpose Deer Gun will have to wait until next year.I been hunting the last couple years in the creek bottoms with my T/C Encore 50 cal. It's real thick in there and I'm concerted that one day I'll need a second shot to finish the animal. I've decided to go back to my old Remington 870 12 gauge with 2 3/4" chamber. The gun has done me good over the years and is scoped.
I haven't been reading, or paying much attention,to what's the best slug shells to use in my Rem. 870 smooth bore. Could you guys help me out!

i know that winchester has these "new" platnium partitions this year. have not seen them on shelves and don't know the differance between the two.
also look at the new brenneke sabot's. they look nasty. those came out last year but i could not get my hands on them. also the new remington core-lokt ultra sabot's.
i for one used to use rem copper solids ( pre-99) they had a bigger front end with 6 slices for maximum expansion. the newer ones look cheaply made smaller frontal end and could not group worth a dang.
www.brennekeusa.com they are called supersabot.

the winchester supremes are great rounds along with the saboted Hornady loads. Brenneke, already mentioned, has some really good loads also along with Federal and Remington. If it was me I would try and buy several of these brands and try them out on paper.
