The Dan Wesson revolver has a good reputation; I didn't know they made a 1911.

I was going to buy one of these last year - I had prices in hand from their many auction sales on the net (they sell them on Gunbroker). I exchanged some mail with the owner/CEO (whatever he calls himself) and his prices were all over the map. I'd suggest you go over to the 1911 forum and read up on them before buying. It's located here

Well they are owned by CZ so not sure how change in ownership affected their pistols. They used to make serious revolvers... WWW.cz-usa.com

It's probably pricy, Dan Wesson sell firearms to price snobs who think more expensive=better.
Actually no. I have one. It is fully tricked out straight from the box and costs less than stock Kimbers, Springfields, etc. Mine is very accurate and reliable.

Why not just wait for the 1911 auto that the entire handgunning world has been so eagerly awaiting?

The Jennings 1911!

Never Shot one rebel. I thought about it. But was told a long time ago that getting high quality was hit or miss. They look nice however.
