RE: 7mm Rem. Mag recoil
As previously mentioned it all depends on how you handle recoil and how well the gun fits you, but it shouldn’t be that bad. More than the 270 and about equal with the 30-06 depending on which grain of bullet being used.

RE: 7mm Rem. Mag recoil
I bearly notice any recoil from the 270 rem bdl. I don't think that the 7 mag will be much worse.

It will hit you a bit harder than a .30-06.

RE: 7mm Rem. Mag recoil
IMO, Its the hardest kicker for what you get out of it that I have used. Its in how they fit you but my 300 Win Mags nidn't hit my shoulder like the 7MM's do. I had five 7 MM Mags and Three 300 Win Mags. I hunted a lot with many calibers and as far as performance on Game (not paper) I can't see any difference on game between the 270, 280 30-06 and 7MM Mag
For a guy that always complains about recoil and justifiably this statement just blows me away. I am pretty recoil insensitive but I can tell you there is a noticeable gap between 7 mag and a 300 mag. I can't tell the difference between a 270,06 and a 7 mm rem mag. But then again all my guns wear 1" recoil pads( usually decelerators)

There is no shame in being recoil sensitive. Some people are, some ain't! I'd say if you can handle the .270, .280, .308, or the '06, you probably won't notice much difference in the 7MM RM!
I shoot a light weight .308, and little heavier 7MM. If anything, I think my .308 may hit a little harder, you just get a bigger "boom" with the 7MM!

My Browning A-Bolt is the light weight composite stalker and it packs a good punch on both ends. I put a slip on Limb Saver recoil pad on it and that helped a bunch. Two of my 7 Mags were Rugers one left hand and one right hand. Can't help it the recoil took every ounce of enjoyment out of shooting them. My 700 Classic 300 Win Mag was much kinder to my shoulder than either of my Ruger 7's. I would assume the fit was the reason because on paper the 300 should have had more recoil. I had two Savage 338 rifles which didn't hurt any worse that the 7's either. They however had Laminated stocks and pretty heavy barrels. The biggest rifle that I have shot quite a bit that had less recoil than I expected and was not bad to shoot was a Winchester Model 70 Safari in 375 H&H. My 416 Rem Mag in the Number one Ruger kicked like a SOB. It however had its good point. Run 10 rounds through it then go back to the smaller Mags and they became ***** cats.
