RE: spartan rifle?
They gave them a favorable review considering they were priced to be affordable
I looked at a Spartan O/U shotgun the other day, and it did look like a decent shotgun for a cheapo price.
Years ago a ducking hunting friend of mine bought a Bakial shotgun, and he shot it loose in around 500 rounds, so who knows for sure how good they are???

I am kind of a strange situation, I want another rifle, but I cant afford the price of a nice bolt. You hear alot of guys on this site saying that stuff like sako is all there is to consider. That is cool, but I aint got thier kind of money. I am 30 and got married six months ago. $400 bucks for another rifle isnt gonna happen. Now, If I could find an accureate rifle (243 or 270) for around 200? I could deal with it. I suppose the only way to find out is to just spend it and get one.
I am convinced that being young and poor helps you to appreciate your 40's when you can actually afford the nice things you wanted in your youth. EJ

You should be able to find a good used Rem 700, Savage or Winchester rifle in that price range. Rifles rarely wear out - buy a used one.
