Use DARK colors, purple, black, blue top water worked great for me. I liked using a buzz bait, easy to get out of trees & brush. If you're having a hard time seeing the bank use a light mounted on your boat or a head lamp so you can light up the bank to see you aiming point.

Caught this bass at 2am fishing with a live toad for catfish. Caught 3 nice 10lb+ channels then this guy decided he was hungry too.

My brother and I went fishing the other day and we caught Bass alll day and into the night with Raplas and top water lure's as well as night crawlers and crank bait.
