Caught my first muskie!!!
I caught my first muskie today. Not a very big one, only about 24 inches, but it was my first. I dont do much fishing for them. I was walleye fishing when I caught him. Kinda small but pretty cool though.

That's always how it starts... someone walleye or bass fishing innocently enough, when they unexpectedly get hit by a muskie... then they can't stop pursuing them... be careful. you'd do best to put the occurrence out of your mind and never think on it again...

Congrats. I have also heard that it is very addictive to catch muskies. I hooked a muskie one time, but it's teeth easily cut and broke my 8lb test. I got it on a top water plug. I've seen them feeding before. It is awesome! I once saw one take a baby duck off the surface. BB

I've been fishing them for 5 or 6 years now since i was 8 or 9 years old..havent caught one while purposely fishing for them...caught my 33" fishing bronzebacks ona T-stick..45" grabbed my smallmouth and got the Wally Diver instead..40" jigging for smallmouth and walleye ona white 4" twister tail 1/16th oz head..12 inch on aT-stick fishing for bass...it happens lol. ive had that many break me off on ultralight tackle too. its a blast, good luck, hope you're hooked!!!

Big congratulations!!! Like Schuylkill said it can be very addicting. Just becareful that you don't spend your entire paycheck on lures, rod, reels, leaders, line, and every other thing that us as muskie anglers just can't do without. It's a great addiction and I can't wait till the 5th of june cause then our season opens WAHOOOO!!!!!!! Congrats again and get some more.
