Ever found hidden fishing holes?
A while back, my buddies and I discovered 3 deep little water holes back in some woods by the near-by river, while we were hunting. They must have been made from the 93 flood. So last spring(after fishing all night at the river) we went to the little ponds, not any bigger than 30X30 yards, and tried fishing them. I only had one toad so I threw it out there and sat it down with a bell. It wasn't 50 seconds before the bell was ringing. I fought him for a few minutes but he came off next to shore. So I threw the same toad out there again and wasn't a minute before I had another on. The same size and got this one all the way in. So through the same toad out there again and sure enough 2 or 3 minutes later another cat nailed it and I got him in, and was about the same size as the others. I was surprised how good they were biting. The toad fell off after the 3rd cat. And I threw them all back. Was pretty fun. I got a pic of two of them. Anybody else accidently find a good little honey hole

I got 2 of them!!!!!! One for Pike and another for bass. The one for bass is in a deep gravel pit and the size of these things are huge!!! They're too smart though only the 3 and 4 pounders are biting but I got a couple of tricks I've thought of and hoping to get a couple of the big ones. Seriously, if I get a hold of one of them guys there could be a new NY record for bass. These guys are huge!!!!

jj,
no it's right at the bottom of a spill way right off a main highway. The key is to go there early in the spring right after the ice goes out usually the first and second week after opener and right in the begining or middle of the week at 5:30-6:00 am. Alot of poeple don't start fishing there till early June becasue they think the water is to high for any pike to hold up in there but on the contrary the pike are thick. Not small ones either.

O YEAH, on the last day of school this past year, my friend and I headed up to a HIGH PRESSURE stream, Little Mahonning Creek. Half way between two bridges we found a little hole that was about 6 feet deep, it had a damn on one side and the other side led into sand flats. Nobody must have fished that hole because we saw atleast 20 trout swimming in it. One Palimino which was probablly a good 20 inches. I managed to pull a 18 brook trout out with a Yo Zuri minnow. The fish were skittish because the water was so clear and there was a huge largemouth, probablly close to 8 pounds swimming in there too. It was a hard spot to reach and the stream directly above and below it doesn't look good at all. It is our secret spot that is full of fish.
Good Luck This Season: Buck Magnet
P.S. Only Chuck Adams can sit at home and see deer so get into the woods. =;^)
