Default Strange Cloud This Morning..

I got out early this morning...I boated 11 including this 5 1/4 pounder...Isn't this cloud strange...to me it looked like the bull opn the Schlitz Malt liquor can..The smaller bass is 3 3/4 pound..I got them by pitching a red shad trick worm...with red BB split shot.

hey stranger....no sir..it's a black Trick worm fished Texas Rig...
I've gone to 10 pound trilene this year for the magority of my fishing...
I have to use a straight worm or the line gets kinked up.
I landed a 7 pounder with it last week..so if the drag is set prperly..
it can happen..Good to see / hear from ya { -;

I thought earlier in the year that the spraying killed the fish..it didn't kill
them..it stunned them for a couple months..non...fishing is awesome..
We are catching the fish that used to be hiding in the hydrilla..
the only place for them now to hide is the cattails..and flipping
and pitching gets them out of that...

If I dind't mess so many fish I could easily catch 20 bass a day..
I seem to get one
over 5 about once a week..S Creek is now my best spot ever..
you still have to know what you are do9ng..many still strike out.
You have to fish slow as the fish get spooked easily..and will spit
your lure out in a heartbeat.

beautiful bass as usual Chuck, congrats on the nice catches. I have noticed, the fish you catch have HUGE bellies. It almost looks like they are full of eggs they are so big. They must have huge appetites!

gangly,
These fish are from Saddle Creek ...the area where they sprayed..the little fish have no where to hide so the bass must eat non stop ...They really aren't that long..about 21 to 22 inches but they are thick solid fish..I brought home about 45 bluegill and shellcrackers today..Shell crackers are red earred sunfish..

Here's my favorite way to fiix them...they honestly taste like rainbow trout this way..

I have a small Smokey Joe Weber grill I use for smoking ..since it's just the wife and I.The Smokey joe looks exactly like the regular round Weber but the grate is only 12 inches in diameter...

Step one..place about 20 coals in the bottom..light them up..

Step two..when coals are white ..spread caols flat..and add your soaked wood chi;s..I like hickory..

Step three ..place gills on 12 inch grate..add nothing...I simply scale . gut and behead them..

Step four leave alone for 35 minutes..

When you serve them..the skin will peel off easily and meat separates from th ebone with ease..the flesh will be a dark tan from the smoke and the meat..taste like rainbow or brook trout..the wife is funny about fish but rated this way a 5 STAR....
