Nothing works on small bass better than a roostertail! White with black spots and silver spinner works best where I fish.

I am with Mauser. Try a small spinnerbait first. They are generally weedless and will get the active fish.

Try the Trick Worm by ZOOM... any color works well but the flourescent (pink and green) will catch small bass all day long! Fish them with no weight and texas rigged and cast them around the bank and around logs, limbs, etc...

black 6" rubber worm, not a floater, hooked weedless (texas rigged) no weight, fished SLOW. lift the tip when you hit grass mats, moss beds, twitch it across the cover, and let is sit in the pockets. get ready to crap yourself when the bass blow up under this. don' t set the hook right away on a surface hit (blow up). give them plenty of time to get the hook in. they will hit it in deeper open water, and will bust through the cover in the shallows
