RE: Question About Braid Fishing Line?
Don't use it on bait casters. The line will actually cut into the layers when you set the hook. In return you will have trouble casting. Then when you get a Roland Martin(backlash) It is not fun and down right frustraqting tying to untangle it. From experience myself and friends it's not worth the frustration.
But if you insist on useing it. Remove your hooks from your lures and heat them up. This will weakin the hook and when it gets snagged upit willbend the hook and get your lure back. The heated hook will not bend when a fish is on cause it is hooked and the weight is in the Ubend of the hook where there is lots of strength and not just the point that is weak and easy to bend. For snag up on rocks, just pull your line tight and release, This usually frees it up. But the best bet again is stay away from braided on bait casters.

You may even have the same thing happen on spinning gear, just be aware of it. Another tip, is always put mono backer under the braided line. Or you can tie off to the line catch on the side of the spool, because the braid can spin on the spool.

That is totally false. Use it in baitcasters all you want. Braided line is used on baitcasters constantly all over the country. It will not harm your reel whatsoever. Unless ofcourse your reel cost $9.99, otherwise use it all you want. I spend 90% of my fishing time casting for muskie using 80 and 100# stren superbraid hour after hour, day after day. Everyone uses braid on baitcasters and it won't damage your reel.

RE: Question About Braid Fishing Line?
Braid is tuffer on rods tho....because its abraisive....also if your used to hook setting withmono....and switch too braid you might snap a rod or two if you dont change thewayyou hook set(due to the lack of stretch).
ive seen a few guys set the hook on a snag while flipping with braid line and snap rods(the line didnt give...the stump didnt....but the rod did)[:@]
