Default Shore Fishing Walleyes

Hi Folks,

Need some help from you Walleye guys. Here in my home state of MA, we are restricted to two water bodies that have these fish.

One is the Connecticut River, which is a very large river. I have been fishing the mouth of a trout brook as it enters the river and have had limited success. We getting a few walleyes, but its pretty slow.

I also just learned that a large water supply here is opening July 1st to fishing. But do not know where to start this summer in an attempt to get these fish. This water is very unfamiliar.

Currenly, in the river, I fish with various baits (minnows, crawlers, crayfish) and also use plugs like crankbaits and flatfish. I fish almost exclusivly at night.

Does anybody have any tips for shore fishing these places. What should I look for? How should I be presenting the baits?? Should I be using lighter line (I use 6lb test) Especially during summer nights. I am aware of Walleye movments here in the spring as the spawn comes, but summer makes things harder.

Thanks,

i would say to look for structure. bridges, trees, ect... my fav lure for off shore eyes is floaters. if you dont know what i mean by floaters just let me know and i can define them. i do not know right now how to define them but i sure can for ya. any way i have usualy put out 2 lines and have a minnow on one and a leech or crawler on the other one. then just let em sit on the bottom and wam then you got a bit i have used this technique quite a bit and i do very well with it.
