Me and my buddy were just sitting here debaiting about the most popular game fish and then we got on the subject of our personal favorite choice. I really enjoy catfishing. Going to a river or lake and just casting it out and sitting. I also enjoy trout fishing. I don't do it so much anymore but I used to slay some trout when I did. I some what enjoy bass fishing, but I'm off and on when it comes to them. I can hall in some bass one day, and the next I don't catch anything.
So lets here ya'lls favorite fish.

Favorite is a relative term:
Favorite freshwater gamefish to pursue.... Largemouth
Favorite FW fish for the table.....striped bass.
Favorite FW fish just to catch for the sheer hell of it..... native brook trout.
Favorite Saltwater Gamefish to pursue......sailfish and spadefish
Favorite SW fish for the table.... either Mahi or Wahoo
Favorite SW fish to catch for the sheer hell of it.... four way tie between reds, trout, flounder and the indispensible croaker... though I do like sight fishing for cobia.

Hands down, Walleye.
I live for deer hunting, but I often find myself loading up the boat instead of the bow in the fall. Those suckers are addicting, and a ton of fun when you get into them. Not to mention they are the tastiest fish going.

My favorite fish to eat is bluegills...
My favorite fish to catch...???...
It has to be a tossup between smallmouth bass on light spinning tackle using my own home made jigs and steelheads on fly tackle....
Very close second would be landlocked salmon on light spinning or fly tackle...
Close third would be any trout on fly tackle with dry flies...
