I fish flies, and high, discolored water is not condusive to good fly fishing..
I enjoy high water fishing with small streamers and nymphs, it is slow but I find bigger ones at this time of year. The problem up here is the amount of snow still in the woods right now.[:@]

I think i had a pretty good first day/weekend, in about a day and a half i caught 28 fish, mostly rainbows.

How did everyone else in PA do this weekend???

You did well....Congrats...Glad you had a good weekend..

My buddies and I were fishing flies and only caught about 5 trout apiece opening day...It was still a pleasant day on the stream......

The spinner guys and some of the bait guys were doing MUCH better...Water was little too high/fast for optimum fly fishing...

The last year it was just the opposite..We were fishing weighted nymphs and were catching 3 trout for every one the bait and spinner fishermen were catching.. Every dog has his day..

NEXT year, I'll throw my spinning gear in the truck, just in case

Yea, it was a nice day up at kettle creek yesterday.

I caught most of mine on wax worms and salmon eggs, and a few on lures.
