There are a few things you can do to resize pictures..
1. Set your camera to low
2, Set your scanner to low ..when puting then on your computer.
3. Right click on the picture and edit.
a. resize until they work
If you have an older computer you may have to go through the paint program.

To expand on what Chuck said.
#3. after you right click on the photo and then click edit, Then you look at the top left and you'll see {image} click it, then look for { strecth, skew } put 25 in the stretch and 25 in the skew. that will resize to the proper size if it was a 4 meg photo. If it was a 2 meg photo then put 50 in those two places.
