Default waders question, need feed back fast

I've been tasked with getting my dad a new pair of waders for father's day from my mom. Looking at two sets and would like to know if anyone has any experince with them. Both are stockingfoot:

Cabelas Guid-tech Dryplus (with the zipper flod out pouch inthe front)

or

Simms L2 Gore-tex

thanks in advance

A friend of mine has stockingfoot waders, and he says next time he will get the ones that have the boots.

Simms L2 Gore-tex

I have a pair of gor-tex with boots and felt soals... I wished I would have gotten hip boots instead.. As, they would be easier to walk back in greater distances than my chest waders..

DO NOT get the cabelas models. Although I am a big fan of cabelas in general, I have never had a pair of their waders that did not leak ( I've had 3 pairs of leaky cabelas) and although they always taken them backwith no problem, it is still a big hassle. Simms makes quality waders as does hodgman. Stockingfoots are good for comfort and walking. Bootfoots are better for fighting the cold (if that's an issue). I prefer stockingfoots overall.

What most people dont realize is waders are generally something the person needs to try on unless they have a lot of experience with the different brands and models. Different waders will suit different body types better, and the better the fit, the better the comfort, and especially the confidence in deeper or faster moving water...so I suggest a gift certificate. Good luck
