Looks like someone had some pretty good luck! I've never eaten a Blue Gill, however, I don't believe I have ever caught any of substantial size either. I use to do afair share of Crappie fishing in the fall, but haven't in awhile. My roommate and I are getting pumped up because the trout season starts up in another month or two here in January. They stock a local river, but after the first few weeks, you have to know where to go to get them. I actually had me a trout tonight for dinner. Mmmmm. Can't wait for the trout season to get here!

I call bluegills sunfish I don't really know what you are thinking about with sunfish. And I alsocall the little ones that have bright orange on them pumpkinseeds or sunfish. But those in the picture look like catfish to me.
