Glad to hear that it wasn't your time, this time! I live in Hillsborough County, FL., which is the Lightning Capital of the nation. Many people have been killed by lightning on the golf courses, on farms feeding their animals and while fishing. Many have been caught into funnel water spouts while fishing in the gulf.
A woman got killed by lightning close to my place, when she went to open the metal gate to feed her animals. The thunder and lightning storm was approximately 10 miles away from her place, but she still got cooked from the inside-out.
