I don't think much about it. Everything that lives on this planet is exposed to its elements both good and bad. Meat is shot full of growth homones and anti-biotics as well as exposed to everything in the air and water. What does a guy do? I quess intake everything in moderation.

no they're bass and blue gill but they're in spring water that comes from the aquifer. the lakes around me are pretty well polluted and i don't want to take that risk. the pits aren't polluted or anything so i don't have to worry about pollutants and stuff like that.

i guess i should've said it as i wouldn't eat fish in my area unless it came from the pits.

Hmmm ... Many of the species on the first list are filter or bottom feeders but it's ok to eat them up to 3 times a week ? I've got better things to do with my time than worry about eating fish anyway .

I eat any of the panfish from Champlain but don't eat the larger species like bass, pike, trout and salmon. The fish that eat the panfish are higher on the food chain and mercury and other pollutants can accumulate.
