Default salamanders

i was fishing up a one of my favorite lakes and usually a spinnerbait works great but today nothing was biting it. so i switched over to a texas riges salamander.I found thesalamanderin a cheap pile of other plastics in wal-mart. the smallmouths loved it, but they were cheapo so they would rip after every catch and now i'm going to but more lizards. what brand makes a nice lizard plastic? i'm leaning toward the new 3X baits but i'm not sure. any imput would be great. thanks,

I use real ones but if you do when a bass hits wait 10-20 seconds before you set the hook or most of the time you wont hook them very good.

The YUM Zellamander is the best salamander to use most of the time IMO. bass can't resist that twin tail. The Strike King 3X lizard works great for carolina rigging because it's so buoyant. The Zoom Lizard is pretty good too, as i get some bites on its 6" size when the fish won't take the 7" Zellamander. But most of thetime when im tossing a salamander/lizard bait, it's the YUM Zellamander.
