Yup, The dumbest thing I ever did was sell it, The guy I sold it to won't sell it back either.

I have a Marlin 336 in .32 Special . It's almost the same bullet. My Dad bought it back in 1949. Between him and i this gun has to many whitetails to count. And through in a couple of black bears also . It still in excel. cond. and still going strong . Yes , Marlin does make one heck of a rifle . I just wish i had someone to leave it to when i'm gone . It means the world to me .

I have 2 30-30 Marlins and I don't think I would ever sell them. I have never had a deer run more than 10 yards with it.

You know I just got one new in the box for 135 dollars from a mass purchase I did from an estate sale. I was going to turn it around and make a profit, but have decided I like it.

Hello CHUCk7,
I have Marlins and Winchesters, I also prefer the marlin. As you probably know to use FLAT NOSE bullets ONLY in the the
magazine, because of a possible chain fire.
I always load them in the magazine but for my first shot I chamber a Psp round. Your first shot is the one that counts with a cold
barrel. I have a 4x scope on mine. I just like 4x? I am not a powerline shooter.
I also have a 24v Savage 30-30/20ga...There has been times I have been in real thick cover and needed that #2 buck in the
20ga..

KEEP ON ROOTING!!!!

I got my marlin 30-30 about 20 + years ago and have only shot it for target pratice. Cant hunt with a rifle were I live and thought about selling once or twice but after reading this I think I'll hang on to it for awhile. By the way, would this gun be any good for yote hunting?

YES. With a good scope, and the right ammo there's no reason why you couldn't tag
a yote out to about 200yds. if needed. Check out the Federal 125gr. ammo, or various
brands with 150gr. bullets.

The 336 was my first gun. my 12 year old daughter and I started hunting this past fall in WV. I shot a nice buck at 60 yards she shot a doe at 125 with it. Neither went very far afterwards. We have been very happy with it. Although I recently bought another gun in 270 my first coice in the woods here is the Marlin 336.
