Check out the Burris and Nikon. Both have lifetime warranties to boot. I just got the Burris Fullfield II in 3-9x40mm and it's awesome with the Ballistic Plex reticle. The 50mm objective lens will allow even more light in. Leupold as of late has apparently been living off of its' reputation more than anything else, in my opinion. Like I said, just my opinion and observtions from comparing a few side by side to others. I went with the Burris and Nikon was a close second. Right now Burris is running great specials where you get a spotting scope too for little money, comparatively.

A Zeiss is probably the best, just over your price range. $479 for a 3-9x50 Conquest at Cabelas. Another good choice would be the Nikon Monarch 3.5-10 at $429. They cost a little more, but are offer a lot more bang for the buck in my opinion. I don't have any experience with Burris or Weaver, so I can't comment on them. Leupold is good, but I don't think they give as much bang for the buck. All I can say is the Bushnell is cheaper for a reason. I own a spotting scope and a regular scope from Bushnell, but they just don't have the optical quality of the others IMHO.

I would just like to add that I have a Weaver Grand Slam. The Weaver scopes are not as popular as other brands like Nikon and Leupold, but they do have excellent optics. Bushnell and Leupold have good customer service from what I’ve heard but have never had opportunity to find out. I wouldn’t take Bushnell out of the picture until you make comparison side by side. I have the Bushnell Trophy being a lower grade of scope then the 3200 and find it to be very nice and clear. The best thing is to go and look for your self. Good Luck......

I had a pro 50 from simmons and won't ever mount it on a rifle again (maybe a 22lr). I also have a leupold 8.5-25x50 on a 223 rem and think that it was worth the investment. No subsitute for cash when buying glass. spend as much as you can afford. remember, no matter how good you and your rifle maybe, if you can't see it, or you point of aim shifts, you won't hit it.
