You can glass bead the Ruger for 20 dollars and get it done or wrap it in tape. I would not be so sure the Ruger will be outshot by the Tikka. Every Ruger I have owned has been a very good to extremely good shooter. Don't compare both rifles in rugged conditions or bad weather conditions the Ruger is much better. If you need proof find out what the firearm of choice of Alaskan hunters is and then tell me. You like paying 79 dollars for a plastic clip?

Go with the Ruger and never look back. I bought a Ruger M77 mk2 2 years ago in .257 Roberts and with my handloads using 100gr Sierra Gameking bullets it will group .75" at 100 yards. I did do a little trigger work myself and brought the pull down to 3.5lbs. Mine is just the plain jane blued/walnut version. Nothing special but a well built solid performer.

i have 5 ruger m77 rifles from 22-250---300 win mag i just bought a tikka t3 lite stainless in 7mm-08 the gun is very accurate i would rather have another ruger but i have looked for 3 years and cannot find one in 7-08 i dont like the compacts. if anyone knows where a ruger in 7-08 is please let me know.
