I just installed Tru-Glow sights on my 336 tonight as I want to keep this one scope free. They really help seeing the sights! Looking forward to sighting it in and seeing how well I can shoot open sights - it has been a while. Do you guys use scopes or open sights?

I use open sites. I don't ever shoot anything with it far enough away to need a scope. I hunt in such thick brush that nothing is visible past 50 yds. on most occasions.

Same here I dont use a scope either most of my shots are 50 yards and under do to thick brush and woods atleast thats how it was in missouri, I recently moved to arizona here ill probably be using my scoped 308 more then my 30-30. Even though with the 30-30 using only open sights I have taken a couple deer beyond 100 yards with it. just dont kid yourself into thinking you have to have a scope for long shots but dont get me wrong scopes do make those long shots easier.
