For hogs, deer and coyotes I would go for the 25-06 or the 308. Either will be just what you are looking for. Ammo for the 308 will be a bit more plentiful though.

Well, the 300 Win Mag will take care of just about anything that walks around here, it will shoot 600 yds easy. Both shoot flat, so how are you with recoil? The 300 is gona kick a whole lot more than the 25-06.

Thats not gonna have too much recoil at all. Its got a heavy barrel on it and is goign to suck carrying it all day hunting. 8.5 pounds just for the gun is alot. My Tikka weighs in at 7.1 pounds with everything.

Id get the model 16 savage, its more expensive but its stainless and synthetic. Also, if your planning on using it out west your going to want stainless and your also going to want at least a 300 win mag or .300WSM or something along those lines. I have a .300wsm and i can load it really light for deer and antelope and i can load it heavey for elk and bear.
also, the model 16 is only 6.5lbs, its light!!!
