Default savage or remington 22-250

Which gun would work good for coyote hunting ,savage 12fv or remingtons 700adl both are 380.00 at the local stores. The savage is a heavy barrel and the remington is standard which gun is the best bang for the buck and for accuracy in 22-250.

My hunting partner has a Savage and I have the Remington 700 and they both hit where you put them ,I couldn't honestly say one is any better than the other ,just depends on the shooter and how well he is doing .

I may be goin against the grain on this one, but I would have to say that I would get the Savage first. Dont mistake me, both are good guns, I am sure. But lately with all of the quality control problems that I hear Remington is having recently.....coupled with the heavy barrel and the reputaion for out-of-the-box accuracy of the Savage. As far is down the road value... doesnt mean a thing if the gun wont shoot straight! lol..jmho

I had the Remington 700 with the 22-250 heavy barrel. It was a good gun but heavy to carry around. If you plan on doing alot of walking with the gun I would go with the standard barrel and also the standard barrel is easier to handle when shooting. If you had your mind set on the Savage you should maybe invest in a bipod and a good sling depending on the type of coyote hunting you would be doing.

buy the Savage and spend the extra money on a really good scope.

I reread your post and see that they are the same price. I just bought a Savage and after 2 days, I am giddy. Can't wait to get it back out there tomorrow and shoot it again......maybe I will get my revenge on that deer I missed (my fault) yesterday.
