Default Ruger LC6 trigger

Here's the skinny. I just got off the phone with Ruger and here were my questions and the answers:

Q. What is the difference between the LC6 and the origonal trigger?
A. The LC6 has a lower weight setting and a crisper let off.
Q. How was that achieved?
A. We redesigned it to make it possible.
Q. Totally redesigned?
A.Yes
Q. What is the standard weight that it is set at when it comes from the factory?
A. They are set to be between 4 and 4 1/2 lbs.
Q. Are the new triggers adjustable?
A. No
Q. What if I want a lower poundage?
A. You can send it in to the factory and we can set it where you want it.
Q. Is there a charge for that?
A. No.
Q. So you'll do afree trigger pull weight adjustment to the weight I specify if I send it in?
A. Yes we will.

Hmmm, I might send mine in then. I don't have the LC6 trigger but mayby they can just adjust the one that I already have. I might also ask them how much for the LC6 trigger. Thanks for the info bigpa

I actually just called Ruger's product service in NH and the lady on the phone said it would cost me $50 to have the existing trigger adjusted to 3.5 pounds is the lowest they will set it at. I've had my rifle since last August. At this time, they are not going to install the LC6 trigger on your MKII, maybe in about 180 days after the Hawkeye has been in production for a little while.

It would be nice if Ruger understood that their lack of adjustable trigger hurts their sales. Is it all because of law suits? I really like the Rugers I have, I guess the money they save you in rings/bases you just use for your trigger job.

Maybe they should borrow Rems lawyers.
