Default LLAMA 1911 9mm questions

Not sure if anyone has one but I just acquired a Llama 9mm. It looks to be a 1911 just chambered in the 9mil. I cant find anything about it right off, i've heard the company went out of business. I am mostly wondering what their value is. This one has nice wood grips and the bluing is pretty good with a few pitted areas on the slide and some minor scratches which might come out. Mag is also hard to get out when released. It wants to stay in place instead of dropping out. I cant find a model # either on it. I'm fixin to pull it apart and clean it. I only gave $125 for it from a buddy hard up on cash. He's had it for about 6 years and its always shot reliably from what I can remember back.

Brand new in the box , with all papers , and in oiled plastic bag, it's about 275.00 in a gun shop. They are not " bad " guns, but they have had some feeding problems in that model. It is cured by buffing the ramp, and smoothing it out into thed throat. They are not a light weight gun, so in the 9mm parabellum , it is a good shooter, but not the most accurate handgun around.

I owned two of them. Used one , which I still have, and left one new in the box which I sold recently. Used , it depends on the condition. At 125.00 , you got a decent deal, but by the same token, you certainly did not do him wrong on the price either.

God Bless

No. It is simply a single action 9mm parabellum semi-auto. Llama did not make very many models, thus there was no designation. The two I purchased were bought in the early 80's. The main difference in the guns they have offered were the different grips available. There is a fairly good listing of Llama guns in " The Gun Traders Guide " 29th edition.

Hope this helps.

P.S. - The gun I sold went for 275.00 New with papers and plastic carry box, in a gun shop.

MET
