Mossberg Model 500 12ga. (grand slam series)
Just got one of these for christmas and was wondering if anyone has one, or has heard anything about them....i was also thinking about buying a rifled barrel and hunting deer with it as well....just wanted to know what you all think about this gun?

I recieved a mossberg 500 field with wood stocks and blued finish for christmas back in 1995 I have used this gun as a hardcore bird gun for 11 years and have never had a problem with it other then cosmetic blemishes from use. In the last 11 years ive put atleast 8,000 rounds through the gun and its still going just as good as the day I got.

I bought my son a 500 Moss back in 1990 and he shoots trap off my drive way just about every week end and bird hunts often. He must have shot over 1000 rounds with it and has never had any problems with it!

my son just pick up a 500 in a trophy model 12 GA. rifled barrel with a thumhole stock
We mounted a bushnell banner on it and with remington 2 3/4 copper clad sabot at the 100 yard target all three shots in one big hole.

Great shotgun! I had one until 2 years ago when i traded it for a Contender. I put at least a case through it every month for a little over twenty years. You can get almost anything for them. Mossberg sales .50cal muzzle loader barrles for them as well as fully rifled slug barrels.

I really like my mossberg 500, it is a great gun.
