I have sent several in for new barrel. I sent in a 45-70 for a 44 Mag Barrel and also a 357 Mag barrel. I had them back in less than two weeks. The total cost including shipping was 107.00 each. They are very good shooters. I have now taken the 357 Mag to a local Smith to be reamed to 357 Maximum which just about duplicatet the 30-30 in performance with ten or twelve grains less powder.

Although some have had ok results, I would stay away from the 243 and 22-250 in this rifle as case sticking with those two calibers is to common. The rimmed cartridges work best. 30-30, 357 Mag 44 Mag and 45-70. The 22 Hornet and 223 are also fine performers in the Handi rifle. I also had one in 280 and 7mm-08 that shot very well.

I have 2 riflesi have to -STILL( sometime soon) .....send in for thenew/extra barrels. Ones a H&R 45.70&also a Nef handi rifle in .223

Always wanted one of those .357 Max,s-(but i better stay away from that onetho- it be yet another id have to start reloading for)

But i think i will get(if possible) a 30.06 & a .308 barrel& maybe a .280( if possible?) And there 44 .mag& one of thereplain shotgun barrels-( only $55+ shipping for that 12 guage/barrel i think possibly)

Thanks for the responses I am looking at the 22 hornet and 30-06 maybe 308. Thanks for the heads up on the .243 and .22-250. I wonder how the 7.62x39's are very cheap to shoot and plink with maybe good for a rabbit or too.

That may depend on the bore size. If its 308 like the Ruger, it would have a problem with the cheap ammo which is .311 or.312. NEF customer service and ask about the bore size. The info might be found on www.graybeardoutdoors.com In their NEF forum.
